What We Will Ask You
These are not trick questions. They exist because a Doberman in the wrong home is a tragedy for everyone, and five minutes of honesty now prevents it.
Dobermans are a velcro breed. Ten hours alone, five days a week, will produce an anxious and destructive dog no matter how well bred it is. A crate, a dog walker, a flexible schedule or a household that overlaps all work — an empty house all day does not.
An adult needs a solid hour of real movement daily plus something mental — scentwork, obedience, a training class, a job around the property. Puppies need far less physical exercise than people expect while their growth plates close, and we will walk you through that.
First-time Doberman owners are welcome — several of our best homes were. We will simply steer you toward the steadier puppies in the litter and expect you to commit to a puppy class in your first three months.
Some insurers, municipalities and rental agreements restrict Dobermans. Please check before you pay a deposit, because discovering it afterwards is heartbreaking and our refund policy cannot undo it.
